Jonny grew up sailing and boating on Chichester Harbour and has always had a passion for the sea. Leaving school at 16 he set up in business buying and selling ex-military RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats) and restoring them.
In 2002, he bought Thornham Marina and moved the RIB sales business there. The site required a great deal of restoration and he spent several years transforming the Marina into a place where people could store their boats and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere there too.
Subsequently, in 2008, he acquired a new boat storage location Trafalgar Wharf. This 24 acre, derelict shipyard was the former Vosper Thorneycroft site in Portsmouth and has required an even bigger transformation than Thornham Marina.
Now Trafalgar Wharf is a thriving boating and business site in Portsmouth Harbour. Home to the vast Trafalgar Drystack indoor boat store, inside the old Vospers boat shed, as well as new and used boat sales, many marine businesses, and the Boat Club Trafalgar, a shared boating club.
When not at work Jonny enjoys time out on the water with his family, and skiing when he can get the chance.
