Heading northwards up the Emsworth Channel and there’s a visitors’ pontoon just beside Fowley Island. Emsworth village is a former oyster fishing port and centre of shipbuilding. The harbour master runs a ferry service ashore two hours either side of high water, where you can explore the shops, the Emsworth museum, local pubs and restaurants. Call on CH 14.
Heading home back up the Prinsted Creek, it is possible to anchor to the East of Pilsey Island, another top spot for watching the harbour’s birdlife.
